Pupil Leadership
At Newton-le-Willows Primary School, we believe that every child should have opportunities to develop confidence, responsibility, and a genuine voice within the school community. Our pupil leadership roles are designed to nurture these skills and reflect our STRIVE values in action.
In Year 6, pupils can become Truly Trusted, a role that recognises their maturity, reliability, and commitment to being positive role models. Truly Trusted pupils take on a range of leadership responsibilities across school life, including supporting staff and visitors on open days, acting as guides during events, and helping younger pupils in assemblies and peer reading. These experiences help pupils demonstrate teamwork, independence, emotional intelligence, and vision.
Through these opportunities, pupils learn to communicate effectively, make responsible decisions, and take pride in contributing to the wider school community. Pupil leadership is an important part of our personal development offer, helping children grow into confident, motivated individuals who are ready for the next stage in their education and beyond.
