Assemblies

Each half-term, we create a carefully planned assembly timetable that brings together a range of themes, including local and national issues, religious events, international days of recognition, safeguarding messages and areas linked to our school values. Every assembly makes a clear link to one or more of these core principles, ensuring a consistent and meaningful approach to personal development.

Through assemblies, pupils learn about the wider world, explore important events like Remembrance Day and Black History Month, and develop understanding of mental health, safety, and social-emotional skills from PATHS. Celebration assemblies recognise pupils’ efforts and achievements, helping them feel valued, proud, and motivated to continue showing STRIVE in their everyday learning and behaviour.

By providing a safe and predictable space to reflect and learn together, assemblies help pupils build confidence, empathy, and a sense of belonging in our school community.

Our weekly ‘Let’s Celebrate’ assembly is another important part of our provision. This allows us to recognise pupils who demonstrate our values, show kindness, work hard or act as role models within the school community. Celebrating achievements in this way helps build confidence, encourages aspiration and strengthens our shared sense of belonging.
