Enrichment & Extra-Curricular Opportunities

At Newton Primary School, enrichment activities and special events give pupils exciting opportunities to explore new experiences, develop skills, and build personal and social confidence. These activities are carefully planned to support learning, STRIVE values, and personal development alongside the PATHS and PSHE programmes.

Recent examples include immersive Prime VR sessions, where pupils travelled back to the Stone Age and World War One through virtual reality, and a visit to see The Nutcracker at the Royal Opera House in London.

Pupils take part in themed weeks such as Friendships and Relationships Week, which includes anti-bullying activities and links directly to PATHS lessons and PSHE.

Liverpool Football Club (LFC) run after-school clubs such as Find My Tribe, helping children develop connections with peers, while whole-school outdoor sessions with KABS focus on teamwork, problem-solving, and collaboration.

Through these experiences, pupils practise self-motivation, teamwork, resilience, independence, vision, and emotional intelligence, applying STRIVE values in real-life contexts.

Enrichment and events inspire curiosity, strengthen social and emotional skills, and give children memorable opportunities to grow academically, socially, and personally.
