PTFA

Parents Teachers and Friends Association

We very much welcome new members, either parents or school staff who would like to lend their support –
even a couple of hours a term would help!

What is the PTFA?

Newton-le-Willows Primary School PTFA is open to all parents and teachers and is one of the many ways parents can get involved with school.
The  PTFA brings together parents, teachers and friends of the school to;

  • raise money for extra materials, resources and equipment in school;
  • promote good communications between parents and staff;
  • support social events for parents and children;
  • make a positive difference for the pupils;

Over the past few years we have raised over £6,000 for the school from events such as school discos, summer fairs, bingo and raffles.

How do I get involved?

As a member of the PTFA you can offer as much or as little time as you have available. Some of the areas you may like to get involved with are; coming up with new fundraising ideas, running a stall at the summer fair, helping out at the school disco, helping to organise raffle prizes, helping to set up school events, food preparation and serving teas and coffees at events.
PTFA meetings are held every 6 weeks or so. These are friendly, informal meetings to plan fundraising events and discuss new ideas to improve links between parents and the school.

If you have any ideas or questions for the PTFA please drop in to our school office or email us on newtonp@sthelens.org.uk
