PE KITS/ GAMES KITS

There appears to be some confusion in relation to the information shared with you in regard to PE kits/Games kits. Please find below some additional information in relation to this:

Until further notice, all PE lessons will take place outside (on the school field and/or school playgrounds) when and where possible. This decision has been made based on Government guidance issued for schools which states: ‘Outdoor sports should be prioritised where possible.

On the day your child has PE, they will need to come to school wearing a games kits (tracksuit, trainers and a lightweight waterproof jacket). This tracksuit is not a school tracksuit (we do not have one of these at this present time) and does not need to be a branded, expensive one. The purpose is purely to keep your child warm and dry as the autumn months approach, as we are aware they will be walking to and from school wearing this and will also be participating in outdoor sports.

Your child’s PE kit (polo shirt, shorts and pumps) will still be required if the weather prevents PE from taking place outside, so we advise children bring this indoor PE kit into school as they would normally and leave this in their cloakroom in case it is needed. Most children leave this in school for the half term.

These arrangements will be in place until further notice (most probably up until October half term). We appreciate that as the winter months approach, PE will need to be timetabled indoors and further information will be shared with parents once these arrangements have been made, closer to the time.

We hope this gives further clarity on some of the questions that have been raised and apologise for any misunderstanding.

Please contact school by telephone or e mail, if you have any further questions in relation to this.

Kind regards

The Senior Leadership Team.
