Magic Breakfast

During these unprecedented times, we hope you and your family are keeping safe.   As many of you know, we work alongside ‘Magic Breakfast’ to ensure we are providing access for our children to receive a free, nutritious breakfast at the start of the school day. This is through our ‘Grab and Go’ bagels.

During these difficult times, Newton Primary School and Magic Breakfast are committed to continuing to provide most of our children access to a free, nutritious breakfast at the start of the day. While we can no longer run our Magic Breakfast provision as usual in school, we be launching next week ‘Keeping Breakfast Going’ by providing breakfast packs for our families. The packs will consist of fresh bagels and a box of cereal or porridge. This will be delivered by community volunteers to your door step whilst observing social distancing.  Deliveries will commence next week. The date, once confirmed, will be sent by text message to all eligible parent/carers.

Those children who are in receipt of free school meals are all eligible for this scheme, but unfortunately those in receipt of universal free school meals are not eligible. If eligible, your child will automatically be part of these scheme and you will receive a delivery next week. If you would like to opt out of this scheme please contact school and let us know.

This is a difficult time for many of us, but for many of our families across Newton-le-Willows it could become almost impossible just to get by. Magic Breakfast may be a lifeline for some of our children and families who may be unable to shop or have funds for everyday essentials.

Keep safe!

Yours sincerely

Newton-le-Willows Senior Leadership Team.
